Swedish Massage
This is the most popular type of Massage Therapy. The Massage Therapist applies gentle, light, and long kneading strokes to the surface layers of the muscles, along with joint movement.
Sports Massage
Geared toward athletes, from a professional athlete to weekend joggers. Focused on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements. Athletes have discovered that specially designed sports massage promotes flexibility, reduces fatigue, improves endurance, helps prevent injuries and prepares their body and mind for optimal performance. This massage will include some light stretching.
Theragun
This complimentary add-on is an effective way to improve physical and mental wellbeing by releasing built-up toxins in localized areas while providing relief from muscular pain and tension. Percussive Therapy can help reduce chronic inflammation, improve athletic performance & recovery time, and accelerate post-surgery healing.
Cupping Therapy
Certified by the International Cupping Therapy Association
With this complementary add- on, cups will be incorporated during your massage session. For Athletes or just someone with chronic pain, let these cups do the work! This is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which the cups are placed on your skin to create a suction to lift the tissue upward creating a negative pressure. This negative pressure is being used to release rigid soft tissue, stimulate the lymphatic system (immune system), loosen adhesions, bring oxygen, and blood flow to the stagnant skin and muscles. Non-oxygenated blood, cellular debris and accumulated wastes in the body are brought to the surface where cupping therapy is applied. This is when the "marks" appear from cupping therapy. This negative pressure (pulling action) created with cups engages the parasympathetic nervous system which in turn helps individuals deeply relax. Individuals receiving cupping therapy feel the benefit of relaxation weeks after treatment. It is not unusual to fall asleep when receiving cupping therapy. Cupping can help with chronic pain, inflammation, insomnia, and well-being, and is considered deep-tissue work.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage addresses chronic muscle tension by using targeted pressure. The Massage Therapist uses their fingers, thumbs, or elbows to alleviate tension and tightness deep within your muscles and tissues. In contrast to the classic Swedish Massage, which promotes relaxation, Deep Tissue Massage typically concentrates on specific area.
Prenatal Massage
Certified by Nurturing the Mother®
Expecting mothers will lie in a comfortable, secure side-lying position to avoid undue pressure on a growing abdomen and the lower back. Mothers are completely supported by pillows, keeping hip, knee and ankle on the same level to avoid pulling on the sacroiliac joint and to maximize blood and lymph circulation. Side-lying is the safest for mother and baby, and educates the client about the ideal sleeping position. During your prenatal massage you will receive calming Swedish Massage strokes and Deep Tissue work for muscle relaxation, tension release, and increased circulation. Gentle range-of-motion and stretching movements will be incorporated to relieve pressure through the neck, shoulders, rib cage, lower back and hips. Deep Tissue work in the hip and gluteal area can help to alleviate chronic lower back and hip pain. Abdominal massage can be done for round ligament pain, to support digestion, increase circulation to the placenta and baby, and to increase awareness of the baby. (the baby will feel and benefit from the massage, you can request to skip on abdominal massage)
